Video Game Junky
Andrew is becomeing a video game junky. Well, not really video games but computer games. He plays PBS kids almost all day long. It's gotten to the point that he would rather play than eat. If he's in the middle of a game when I call him to lunch he'll say "I'm not starving!" and won't come until I turn off the computer. And he's only 3.

How Cold Is It?
ZERO!
Yes, that's right. The last couple of mornings it's been ZERO degrees when it's time for school.
Yuck.

Funny
Kara: A snow shovel is better than a snowblower.
Me: Yeah, why is that?
Kara: Snowblowers pollute. Plus they leave behind a little bit of snow.

OOPS!
I knew it would happen eventually. Today was the day.
Last year our school district started early out day. Every Wednesday the kids get out early. I knew it would cause trouble. Last year it wasn't so bad because Kaylee walks home from school. It didn't matter if I forgot because I rarely go anywhere. This year Kara is in Kindergarten and I have to go pick her up. Today I was watching the clock- 30 minutes to go , 15 minutes to go, etc. But when I got to the school and there was no bus and no other parents picking up kids I realized, it's Wednesday- she got out 20 minutes ago.
Kara was waiting for me in the office and she was not happy. oops!

Crawling!
She did it! Today she started to crawl. It's a cute hoppy sort of crawl. I'm sure in a couple of days she will be really fast. Just in time for the Christmas tree! It's only been like 20 minutes and I've had to "rescue" her at least 5 times. And now she's in the tree again.

Red Ribbon Week
A couple weeks ago our school had Red Ribbon week. I was on the commitee that planned everything. We had a really fun week. This was the highlight.

This is a picture of the school from the helicopter that flew Max Hall in. Apparently the PTA president's husband is a pilot. Max spoke to the kids and did a relay race with some of the teachers. The kids had a great time.

Not Yet!
Any bets on how soon she'll be crawling?
I'm afraid it might be soon. She gets her front up and scoots backwards or her back up and pulls with her arms.
I'm not ready.

It's Off!
Kaylee had a doctor visit Monday. It's been a month since she broke her arm. Due to range of motion concerns the Doc said she didn't need to wear the splint anymore. She kind of freaked out and started crying. I think she liked the security. Now she has to relearn to use her arm. The whole first day she wore her sweatshirt and kept her hand in her pocket. She was afraid to use it. She also has to do exercises to increase range of motion in her arm. If she doesn't get back to full ROM in 3 weeks she will need physical therapy.

Soccer
Kaylee and Kara both did soccer this fall. That means we had soccer games every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday through Septenber and the first week of October. At least that was the schedule. Kaylee's season was cut short because of her broken arm- which is why I don't have any pictures of her playing. Her team did really well though, they won 8, tied 1 and lost 0. Kara's age is "instructional", meaning they don't keep score.
Here are some fun pics of Kara.

My Side Of The Story
Kaylee put her story on her blog. Here is my version.
About three weeks ago Steve brought home a trampoline. I think the first word out of my mouth were " I don't WANT a trampoline. Someone's going to fall off and break their arm!"
So Sunday after chirch the kids went outside to play. Wes left to go to a meeting. Next thing I know Kaylee's laying on the ground in the weeds crying. I go out to see what's wrong and she says " I think I broke my arm". I brought her in the house and tried calming her down without success. Wes gets home and takes her to her room to try to calm her down. Nothing- still crying and saying her arm is broken. So I took her to the instacare where the doctor took one look at her swollen elbow and sent us to the ER saying that if the brake is above the elbow an orthopedic surgeon would need to look at it. So we head to the PACKED ER to wait and wait and wait. We ended up sitting on a bench outside to wait because neither of us could deal with all the sick people in the waiting room. They brought us in to have her x-rayed and I could see that her arm was broken. They didn't have a room for us though so we went back outside. Wes's neice Melanie and her son Daxton were there too and after a while Wes's sister Janet and her husband Ray showed up too. (Thanks Ray for keeping us company while we waited.) Finally we got to see a doctor who said her arm was broken. An ER tech came in and put a splint on and they sent us home with instructions to call an orthopedic surgeon to get it casted. So now we wait until Thursday to get a cast. Meanwhile, she had to miss her class feild trip today. Oh well, I guess life happens.

I Told You I Have Cute Kids Part 2
So we went to Ted York's Studio/home to choose our pictures and guess what we saw when we walked in the door? A giant picture of our kids! They really are very photogenic. I'm not sure where they got that from because I take horrible pictures!

Smartypants
I can never remember what side I last fed Anna on so I'm always saying "what side?". The other day I picked Anna up to feed her and Andrew says "right side!"
Yesterday out of the blue Kara says "Mom, S is a powerful thing. Pizza, Pizzas."

So Big!
Anna had her four month check up today. She's growing up so fast! She is now 25 3/4 inches long. That's the 93rd %. No wonder she doesn't fit in her bassinet any more!

Things That Made Me Smile
While doing morning chores, Kaylee: "What can I do next?"
Kara: "Thanks for the good meal."
Kara: "Bye, I love you!"
Andrew: "I need to go poops!"
Kara putting her dishes in the dishwasher without being asked.

Thank You
Yesterday Anna spit up all over me. So I said "gross", "EWWW", and "sick".
Kaylee said "Mom that's redundant."
What!?
"They all mean the same thing, it's redundant."
Thank you.
I guess you could call me Lady Redundant Woman becuase I spend my days saying the same things over and over and over...
