The lease is up on our pilot next month so I've been debating what kind of car I should get. We knew we wanted to lease again and we knew how much we wanted to pay. We also knew we needed something that seats at least 6
conmfortably and wasn't a mini van. 4WD or AWD also on the list. I looked at a Mazda CX9- not nearly enough 3rd row space. They should have a sign saying "Must be under 5' tall to ride". Moved on to the Nissan Pathfinder- I liked the staduim seating. The back row was higher so kids could see over. But when I sat in the 3rd row I couldn't put the 2nd row seat back- too small. The Chevy Traverse had no lease deals so we skipped it. Now, the GMC Acadia. I really liked the look of this car, it was by far my favorite. It rides nice and quiet, there's plenty of room in the 3rd row, plenty of space behind the 3rd row. Unfortunately the 2nd row seat flips up. I know, you're thinking "so what?" The problem is that I would have to remove the booster seat before sliding the seat to allow access to the 3rd row. Pain! Yes, the Acadia is roomy, but if you have more than 2 kids in booster or car seats it just isn't practical. You can't put three seats across the 2nd row and you can't easily access the 3rd row with two seats in the 2nd. You could put two in the back but then you'd have to climb all the way in the car to buckle the one on the driver's side. Also a pain. So maybe when our kids are older we'll get an Acadia. So now that you've read my entire thought process you finally get to hear the news:
We got a new Pilot!
I love it! They fixed all the little things that bugged me before, like having to remove and stow headrests when I put the 3rd row down to load groceries. We also got a screamin' deal. I guess it pays to be hesitant. Not only did they lower our monthly payments by $40 a month, they are replacing the front tires and fixing the dent in the old pilot for free so we don't have to pay for it when we turn it in. So now we have a new car and we've already paid for the other one until June 7th. I'm not sure what we'll do with an extra car for a month. Oh well!
