Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Here are some pictures of Christmas Morning. Kaylee was so excited to get the first 28 Magic Tree House books.

Kara with her jumping horse.

Andrew loves his new workbench. He's hammering in nails and concentrating so hard (notice the tounge sticking out).

Later in the day we went to our new property and the kids had a great time sliding down the hill.

Family Christmas Party

Saturday was the Larsen Christmas Party. Actually, Saturday was also the Rogers Christmas Party. We had a long day of partying. We ate two ham and potato dinners, decorated gingerbread houses and ice cream cone Christmas trees, and had lots of fun.
This is a picture of the Nativity at the Larsen Party.

Santa came too.

This is as close as Andrew would get to Santa.

Snow Fun

After a long fall with fairly warm temperatures it finally snowed. And snowed, and snowed, and is snowing again, and is supposed to snow all week! So here are some fun pics of the kids playing in the snow.

HELP!

I need help! I need to make a quilt for the new baby but I can't decide what to do. Here are some that I like. Please tell me what you think

1.This one would obviously need different colors etc.

2. So would this. I would probably do pale pinks, maybe pale yellow and green as well.

3. Same with this one- pale pinks.

4. I like the quilting on this one- I wouldn't (couldn't) do the applique and embroidery.
5. Super cute
6. This one would ne the easiest and is still cute. I wouldn't do the big block in the middle.

Pollitically Aware or Too Much TV?

During all the campaining Andrew started to recognize Obama and John McCain. After the election when they stopped talking about McCain all the time he asked "Where John McCain?"

"Daddy Said..." and Other Funny Things My Kids Say.

Andrew's new favorite phrase is "Daddy said". Such as "Daddy said gum" or "Daddy said candy". He uses it when asking for things I might say no to. A new interesting variation is "Jenny said..." Yeah, well Jenny's not the mom! And Daddy didn't say!

Andrew also asks all the time when the baby's coming out. "Baby come out five o clock?" "Baby come out 5 minute?".

During Sacrament meeting yesterday the speaker asked a question, the answer to which was, of course, "no". So what does Andrew say (quite loudly) "no-o". Fortunately only a few people heard and laughed. The poor speaker was probably wondering what he said that was funny. At least we know Andew was listening.

This is an old one that still makes me laugh. The kids have been watching a lot of TV lately because I've been laying on the couch sick. Maybe too much TV. I walked into the room one day and Kara asked "Mom, do you wanna get ripped?" What?! There's a commercial for a home gym that asks that question.

The other day, while deiving in the car, Kaylee was pushing back her cuticles and said "I'm pushing back my tenticles".
Don't kids say the funniest things?

Paid in Potatoes

Wes came home from work the other day with this. A 50 lbs box of Idaho potatoes. Turns out he saw a patient who was a potato farmer from Idaho. He said he couldn't afford to pay for his visit with money so he paid with potatoes instead. The doctor got 100 lbs and Wes and another NP each got 50 lbs. I don't know what I'm going to do with 50 lbs of potatoes because about a month ago I bought a five pound bag and we still have about half. But, I must say, it's pretty cool that they let him pay in potatoes. It even says on his bill "Paid in Potatoes".

Happy Halloween!

Rodeo Princess
Another Rodeo Princess
The kid's Jack-O-Lanterns. Kaylee's started to rot-EEEWWW!
A Cowboy
All ready for Trick-or-Treating. It was an unusually warm Halloween this year. They didn't even need sweatshirts! I thought I was back in California (except that we didn't have to drive from one ward member's house to another).

MMMM, Tasty

The girls and I made Halloween treats. We puts sticks in marshmallows and on cookies and dipped them in melting candy. We had lots of fun but can you say "holy sugar rush". Try eating a candy covered marshmallow!

Fall Fun

Some fun pics of the kids playing in the leaves that Wes shook off the trees.

Jumprope Contest

On Friday Grandma, Jenny, and Kristy came over to see our property. We had a picnic at the park and a jump rope contest in the backyard. I think Kristy won. Of course, that's only because I couldn't participate due to my rapidly expanding belly. I got some pretty good video though, so enjoy!

Our Property

This is the view from our (soon to be our) property here in Mapleton. It's almost an acre, which we don't know what we're going to do with but are really excited about. It goes back to the fence.
The property from across the street. On the left side of the picture you can see where the sidewalk ends. That is where our property starts. The other side is out of the picture to the right. There is about a 12 foot high hill right at the front that should be fun to landscape and put a driveway up.
The view to the south.
View to the west. As you can see we are on top of a hill so we can see everything. Until they put a house there.
And, of course, cute Andrew waving.

Soccer

Kaylee played soccer in Mapleton this year. They play instructional soccer meaning they don't keep score. It's also 4 on 4 with no goalie. Kaylee liked playing although she didn't score any goals and didn't kick the ball more than a few times each game. She's just not as agressive as the other kids. But it was good exercise and she had fun.
She's number 4.
